What Modi said on the Taliban issue

After two decades, the Taliban have regained control of Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Taliban have attacked at least two Indian embassies in Afghanistan. The Taliban also took away two vehicles after they ransacked a search operation there The incident took place at the Indian embassies in Kandahar and Herat on Wednesday, media reports said on Friday.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened his mouth after the attack on the Indian embassy came to light.

Modi said on Twitter on Friday that a regime established with violence would never last long. What starts with terror and panic lasts much less.

A few days before the embassy incident, the Taliban's Qatar office had assured that no damage would be done to the Indian embassies in Afghanistan. The Taliban called on India not to vacate the embassy. As indicated by Indian government sources, the message came from the workplace of Taliban pioneer Abbas Stanikzai in Qatar.

Earlier this week, India rescued staff from its own embassy in Afghanistan and repatriated them. Embassy staff were flown back from Kabul on two Indian Air Force C-17s. The Indian ambassador to Afghanistan was also recalled. However, about a thousand Indians are still stranded in Afghanistan.
