Islam's guidelines for moderate eating

Islam's guidelines for moderate eating

Wellness is one of the best blessings of Allah. Healing is essential for normal living and worship. Islam places special emphasis on health assessment, health care and disease prevention. Despite the warnings, he insisted on the proper treatment of the disease. Awareness of food intake plays a significant role in health protection. For this, many people follow different diet-routines. The guidance of Islam in this regard is as follows:

One.

Moderate diet: You have to take food to survive. However, in the case of food intake should be moderate and moderate food intake. It is not the circumcision of the Prophet to eat on a full stomach. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions never ate with a full stomach. Narrated from Mikdam Ibn Madikarab (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Man does not fill any vessel worse than the stomach. As much food is enough for the child of Adam, as long as his back is straight. And if he has to eat more than that, then he should use one-third of his stomach for food, one-third for drinking and one-third for breathing. '(Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2360; Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3349)

Two.

Weekly and monthly fasting: Hadith instructs to fast one day at a time or on Mondays and Thursdays of the week. He has been urged to fast three days a month. Through fasting, opportunities for autophagy are created in the body and the contaminants in the stomach are cleared. Fasting from one day to the next is called 'Saume Dawood'. Dawood (a:) used to fast in this way. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called it the best fast and advised those who wished to fast more to fast in this way. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast every Monday and Thursday of the week. He also mentioned that fasting on the 13th, 14th and 15th of the Arabic month is equivalent to fasting throughout the year. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a hadeeth narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) about fasting every Monday and Thursday of the week, ‘Every Monday and Thursday (the servant’s) deeds are presented (in the court of Allaah). I prefer that my deeds be presented in the state of fasting. '(Tirmidhi, Hadith: 648)

Three.

Dinner before Esha: Eating dinner and falling asleep immediately is very harmful to health. When you fall asleep after eating, your stomach works even when you are asleep. This can lead to various diseases including digestive disorders. Therefore, if you eat dinner before the Esha prayers, on the one hand, going to and from the mosque, performing the prayers, etc., the work of the stomach is almost finished before going to sleep, on the other hand, it is possible to go to bed early after the Esha prayers, which is essential for good health. Narrated Ayesha: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not sleep before the Isha prayer and did not talk at night after it. (Ibn Majah, Hadith: 602)

In another hadith, narrated from Abu Barjah Al-Aslami, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not like to sleep before the Isha prayer and talk after the Isha prayer. (Bukhari, Hadith: 638, Muslim, Hadith: 1494)

Four. Eating halal and balanced food: It is necessary to take suitable and balanced halal food and drink for the body. Harmful, destructive and haraam food and drink should be avoided. The things that Islam has forbidden are definitely harmful to human health. Allah says, ‘O mankind, eat from that which is lawful and wholesome in the earth, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is your open enemy. '(Surat al-Baqara, 18)

Five.

Avoid smoking and drugs: Smoking is a deadly drug, which gradually leads to the destruction of people. As a result of smoking, people die of various diseases including cancer. Drugs also make people antisocial, sick and prone to crime. Death is a tragic consequence. The Holy Qur’an says, ‘Spend in the way of Allah and do not push yourselves towards destruction. Do good, and Allah loves the doers of good. '(Surat al-Baqara, 195)

Instructing people to abstain from drugs, Allah said, ‘O you who believe! These are the works of the devil. So forsake it so that you may prosper. '(Surat al-Ma'ida, 90)

Six.

Eating the food of the Prophet (peace be upon him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) liked some food. They are the healthiest and most nutritious. The quality of these foods and the need for the human body are also proven in modern research. Such as dates, milk, honey, barley bread, pumpkin, meat, cheese, butter, sweets, etc. These foods can be taken as needed and in quantity.
