The best Ronaldo of all time, Messi is second

There is no end to this debate. There are so many names in the argument of the best footballer of all time that it is bound to cause trouble. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who has shown incredible consistency in this generation, want to keep their supporters ahead in this debate. Meanwhile, how to beat Pele to win three World Cups? How can anyone beat Diego Maradona, who brought Argentina to the World Cup with a single achievement, or France's dissatisfied Zinedine Zidane?

In these cases, it is never possible to get a neutral answer because emotion and choice play a role. So one mathematician from Oxford went the other way. Has chosen some of its own algorithms as a way to rise above emotions. Different criteria have been set in the algorithm. And from the numbers obtained from the criteria, he has shown that Ronaldo is ahead in the question of the best of all time.

Dr. Tom Crawford of St. Edmund's College, Oxford, divides the different career achievements and roles of footballers of different generations into seven criteria. Has created an algorithm of his own. This algorithm does not include the names of all the footballers in the world. Only those who have won at least two Ballon d'Ors or are recognized as legends from the time before the award was launched in 1958 have been selected.

The list became very small. Zinedine Zidane did not get a place like this in Dr. Crawford's. Along with Ronaldo, Messi, Pel, and Maradona, only Netherlands and AC Milan legend Marco von Basten, another Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, Hungary's 'Galloping Major' Ferenc Puskas, Real Madrid legend Alfredo Jonathan and Alfredo Di Stenbos, Legend Michel Platini.

In the eyes of many, these four are ahead in the eyes of the best

Dr. Tom Crawford's algorithm had seven criteria. These are:

1. Winning titles at club level (domestic and European). According to the co-efficient index given by UEFA based on the quality of the leagues, the strength of the league has affected the points.

2. National team title. 150 points for winning the World Cup, 100 points for winning the Euro or Copa America. Points will decrease if the team is stronger. Again, if you contribute to the team's achievement, that is, if you win the Golden Ball or Boot, you will add some extra points.

3. Goals in club football.

4. Goals in international football.

5. Ballon d'Or votes. The winner of the Ballon d'Or is divided by the percentage of votes received by the top three nominees for the award in that particular year.

. Personal record: Highest goal scorer for a club or national team or top scorer in a competition.

. The ‘Z-Factor’ season is a season that is mathematically incredible, where a player's goal contributes to the team's success.

The comparison has been made between these 10 people

The comparison is between these 10 people: Collected

Ronaldo is one of the top 10 players in Crawford's algorithm. Real Madrid is ahead of Messi, having won seven leagues and five Champions Leagues with Manchester United and Juventus. In this case, Ronaldo is getting full 100 points. And Messi got 63 points. Maradona, who has won two leagues and a UEFA Cup with Napoli, has at least 10 points.

In the second category, Maradona's 'Phenomenon' has surpassed Ronaldo. The legendary Brazilian striker, who has won two World Cups and two Copa America, has received a full 100 points here. De Stefano, Puskas, and Cruyff got 0 here as there was no achievement for the national team. Among those who have won for the national team, Ronaldo has the lowest number of points (11), followed by Messi (26). Pele (6) and Maradona (54) are two and three.

Puskas was incredible in terms of goals per match

Puskas was an incredible profile picture in terms of goals per match

Ronaldo now has a record of goals at the club level. But other legends are ahead of Ronaldo in goals per match. Puskas is at the top with 625 goals in 629 matches in his club career. He is on par with 100 points after scoring 643 goals in 859 matches (96 points). In this case, Messi (74 points) is ahead of Ronaldo. The lowest points are Platini and Maradona (25). Despite being one of the most terrible strikers of all time, Ronaldo Nazari also got 36 points!

Ronaldo, who has just set a world record in terms of national team goals, is ahead. If he lags far behind his 100 points (69 points). Messi has three (6 points). Basten (22) got the lowest by this standard.

Pele is ahead because he got the vote on the ballot

Born outside of Europe, Maradona did not receive the Ballon d'Or in his own time. Later in 2015, France Football, the organizing body of the Ballon d'Or, gave a list of those who would have received the Ballon d'Or if they did not have that rule at that time. It was said that PelāĻ˛ে would get 7 Ballon d'Ors and Maradona 2. Crawford's algorithm also puts the winner ahead of the year in terms of votes (100 points).

If he got it, he would get 6 Ballon d'Ors, but he didn't really get it. Messi, who has won the most 6 Ballon d'Ors in the real world, is in the top two (9)6 points). Ronaldo (6 points), who has won five Ballon d'Ors, has three. In this case, Maradona (26) is the most backward.

Ronaldo, who holds five world records, is ahead of the sixth standard. Pele is in two with 56 points. Messi is in three with 44 points. Puskas is four with 22 points. As there is no record in the possession of the rest, they did not get any points in this case.

The latest criterion was the ‘Z factor’. A season where footballers have played so incredibly that the numbers seem incredible. Again, he has pulled the team alone in any season. Ronaldo, who led Real Madrid to the Champions League with 16 goals in the 2013–14 season, has amassed 2.4 Z factor points this season. Messi scored 91 goals in one year in 2012, including 63 goals in the 2011–12 season. Messi got 3.1 Z factor points for that season. Cruyff earned 3.1 points for Ajax for the 198–6 season.

With these points, everyone got points depending on their contribution to the success of the team in the season. Messi, who has won 10 leagues and 4 Champions Leagues for Barcelona, is ahead by a large margin. Ronaldo is far behind Messi (61 points). There are three Basten (56). Platini (10) got the least points.

But all in all, Messi could not surpass Ronaldo. Ronaldo is the best with 536 points. Messi is in two with 503 points. There are three with 459 points. Then step by step Puskas (305), Ronaldo Nazario (261), Von Basten (236), The Stefano (201), Platini (16), Maradona (189) and Cruyff (183).

Dr. Crawford's explanation of his algorithm is, "As a fierce football fan, I have often argued with friends about who is the best of all time." In the last few years, I have been enjoying taking mathematics to everyone. So I had a lot of fun showing it to the football world. While Ronaldo tops my algorithm, I'm sure the numbers are incredible, and I'm sure the argument will continue! '

That has to continue. Because, as Dr. Crawford admits, goals are more important to him. That's why Maradona or Cruyff is far behind. As a result, midfielders, defenders, or goalkeepers have no chance in this case.
