ICC is introducing new awards to increase the attraction in cricket
Cricket's highest governing body ICC is launching new awards to make international cricket more attractive. From now on, the best male cricketer and best female cricketer will be awarded on the basis of performance every month. This was stated in the official statement by the ICC on Wednesday.
It has been said that from now on, the 'ICC Men's Player of the Month and 'ICC Women's Player of the Month awards will be given to the best cricketers of every month.
For this, an ICC Voting Academy has been created with former cricketers, broadcasters, and journalists. However, fans' voting will also be added to their votes. This award will start in January.
It is reported that the ICC Awards Nomination Committee will select the three best performers of the month in two categories. Members of the ICC Voting Academy will then vote. ICC registered supporters will also get a chance to vote.
Members will have a 90 percent vote share and fan 10 percent. The names of the two who win the total vote will be announced on the second Monday of every month. Who gets this award in the first month of watching now?
Meanwhile, a unique record is owned by Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan. Became the first cricketer to score 40 runs and four wickets with the bat against the same opposition in two separate ODIs. He first achieved this feat against Ireland in Belfast in 2016. Then on January 26, Rashid once again set this precedent against Ireland.
